What does “ready to hang” mean?

When browsing artworks listed on Latifa Art, you will see they generally fall into one of 3x categories:

Unstretched / requires framing

  • The canvas or paper will arrive rolled in a tube (which is a perfectly safe way to transport it).
  • To make your artwork wall-ready, you need to stretch or frame it.

Ready To Hang

  • In most cases, this refers to the artwork canvas stretched over a simple timber frame.
  • This style is often referred to as a “stretched canvas.”
  • The artwork will include hanging fixtures (hooks and wires), so it is ready for your wall on delivery.
  • Some people may prefer to leave their artwork stretched (e.g. vibrant Aboriginal works often look best as a stretched canvas).
  • An external frame could be added to complement the artwork and offer a greater level of protection.

Framed

  • Another variation of Ready To Hang.
  • The artwork will be with a traditional, usually wooden, frame of varying colors and textures.
  • We will note the frame style within the artwork’s written description plus post photos of the frame details.
  • Hanging fixtures including (hooks and wires) the frame.
  • Latifa Art offers an easy pre-delivery framing service, or find a reputable local framer to create a custom frame to match your artwork and taste.

Can I get a custom piece made?

Found an artwork you want to, but is sold or the wrong size? Do not worry. From here, commissioning art is easy with Latifa Art.

Click on Commission an Artwork button on the page of the artwork you like. Fill in the details in this form. You will get a quick response.

Quote & Pricing

We will be in touch directly with a quote and time to create. As a rule of Latifa Art, if you have found artwork and would like something the same size, the price of a commissioned painting will be the same (or very similar). The quote you receive will be for an artwork delivered to your door anywhere worldwide.

Getting started

Once you are happy with the quote, a 50% deposit is requested to be paid to commence (read steps in detail here). You do it by buying a Gift Voucher here

Completing the purchase

Once the artwork is near completion, the artist will share photos for your approval. You can submit one round of changes, suggestions, or tweaks if necessary. Then, when you are happy with the artwork, it will be available for you to purchase on Latifa Art. You use your deposit gift voucher code on checkout, so you only have to pay the 50% balance. After that, we carefully deliver the artwork to your home or office.

Returns

The 7-day return policy still stands. The 50% deposit is non-refundable, and if you choose to return the piece, we ship the artwork back t and refund 50% of the amount to you. The 50% goes in full to the artist to cover their material costs.

Finish!

So there you have it, pretty simple. You can take absolute comfort that we have completed thousands of commission artworks for happy collectors over the years, and if you have any more questions, please email us on; sales@latifaart.com.

Thank you!

What happened if an artwork gets damaged in transit?

All shipments are insured against loss and damage. Insurance is valid for the time the artwork is in transit only.

If you’ve received an artwork with damage, contact us and send us a few photos of the damage to info@latifaart.com.

You, as a collector, don’t have to wait for anything. You can either ask for a full refund, ask the artist to do a similar piece, or choose any other work on Latifa Art as a replacement (we can credit the entire value of the artwork to your Latifa Art account.

I have multiple gift vouchers. How do I use them in one order?

Multiple gift vouchers – lucky!

Just email sales@latifaart.com all the vouchers, and we will combine them into one and send you a fresh new code.

What does it mean a piece is marked as “Enquire Now”?

The artist might set her work to ‘Enquire Now’ for many reasons, and usually, it just means that you may need to wait a little longer for it to arrive.

For example, they might be on holiday and unable to send their work, the work might be in an exhibition, or it might simply be waiting to dry.

If you’d like to purchase a work marked as ‘Enquire Now, click the button to inquire. In most cases, buying the piece isn’t a problem, and it can soon be yours!

I want to buy an artwork that has already been sold

So sorry you missed out! Not to worry, we have another solution! Our artist works on commission and would be happy to create a piece for you!

Just select Commission an Artwork and let us know if you would like the exact dimensions as the original piece. However, it’s okay if you want to go bigger or smaller! Just let us know in your inquiry. We will then ask the artist for a quote and timeframe to work on your commission and get back to you with the details.

What is the difference between acrylics and oils?

Good question! Acrylics and oils both have their strengths and are useful for different styles of art. Acrylic is quick-drying and perfect for applying large, bold swathes of color, whereas oil paints are easier to blend and build up.
